Join us for Harrisburg Board Game Day on Saturday, Aug. 29, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Strawberry Square.
This all-day event is a fun and welcoming way to play games, meet people and explore the local board gaming community. Whether you are new to board games or have been playing for years, there will be plenty to enjoy.
What can you do at the Harrisburg Board Game Day?
Attendees can take part in Learn to Play events, try games from the Play & Win library and enjoy a game library provided by The Bodhana Group. There will also be open free play all day, giving you time to connect with other local players and play the games you already know or want to learn.
You can also shop with friendly local game stores, meet designers in the board game designer alley and try new games through Break My Game playtesting. The charity raffle will feature more than 100 games to win.
New this year, BrownCastle Games will host a crokinole tournament. Crokinole is an easy-to-learn dexterity game that's fun for both new and experienced players.
“Easy to learn but hard to master, Crokinole is a tabletop classic from the 1860s! The fast-paced flicking game plays 2-4 players who are flicking their discs to outscore their opponents. Come sit for 5 minutes & enjoy a round or several – you’ll be hooked with the Best Flickin’ Game!”
The crokinole tournament will begin at 5 p.m., but demos will be available throughout the day from the team at Browncastle Games.

What is Play & Win?
Try something new and you might take it home! Our Play & Win program features games donated by board game publishers for you to discover and enjoy. Check out a game, gather some players and give it a try. Each time you play, you earn a chance to win that game. You can also earn additional chances by sharing your play on social media or leaving a rating or review on BoardGameGeek.
The drawing for Play & Win will be at 7 p.m.

Find Your Way Around
Harrisburg Board Game Day fills two floors of Strawberry Square. Start at the registration area on the first floor to check in, receive your free raffle ticket and get help planning your day.
The first floor features the Crokinole Tournament, Learn to Play, Board Game Designer Alley and event vendors. Head to the second floor for the Bodhana Group Game Library, Play & Win, Break My Game, additional game demonstrations and the free play area.
Use the map to locate each activity along with restrooms and ATMs. Raffle drawings will take place at 1, 3 and 5 p.m., with the 50/50 drawing at 5 p.m. and the Play & Win drawing at 7 p.m.

Complete Your Personal Quests
Use the card as your guide to exploring Harrisburg Board Game Day. Complete the activities, mark them off and follow the directions on the card to earn additional raffle tickets. Every attendee will also receive one free raffle ticket when they check in at registration.
Drawing Times
Raffle drawings will take place at 1, 3 and 5 p.m. The 50/50 drawing will be held at 5 p.m. and the Play & Win drawing will be held at 7 p.m.

$1 for one ticket
$5 for six tickets
$10 for 15 tickets
$20 for 40 tickets
50/50 tickets can be purchased for $1 each.
